Who knew learning about the outdoors could be so much fun? Your child will have plenty to discover with hikes, environmental games, nature crafts, and much more. Each theme week will feature one all-camp project, as well as enriching small group sessions. To complement the weekly theme we will take a fun and educational field trip. Enriching stories will be told by our own award-winning storyteller. In addition, we will have specially designed interpretive programs led by a Park Naturalist or Ranger each week. We'll have just enough time to cool off swimming, go boating and fishing and do archery weekly.

Our day camps are fully licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. State regulations require the following records on all children in attendance: Health Assessment, Authorization for Emergency Medical Care,Activities Permission Form and Personal Data Sheet. Attendance will be prohibited if all necessary forms are not submitted.

Enrollment is limited to 60 at Ernie Miller Park and 50 at Shawnee Mission Park.

Counselor-to-camper ratio is 10-to-1 or better.

Early registration is encouraged.

Camp registrations accepted by mail, fax, web site at www.jcprd.com, or in person only. No phone registrations.

An orientation meeting will be held at 7 PM Thursday, May 13th at Ernie Miller Nature Center and at the Shawnee Mission Park Shelter #12. Camp policies, paperwork, and general information will be covered at that time.

Note:All Paperwork must be in our office by May 13th or turned in at the Orientation meeting. If enrolling after May 13th, please bring paperwork the first day child attends camp.

REFUND POLICY: REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED ONLY WHEN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE MET.

*A replacement must be available from our wait list or you must find a replacement.

* A written request must be received two weeks in advance of the camp week.

* Each request must state the reason for the withdrawal.

* These may be e-mailed to Registration@jocogov.org or faxed to (913) 831-6336.
   NO PHONE REQUESTS.

* EACH CANCELED WEEK IS SUBJECT TO A $5 PROCESSING FEE TO BE DEDUCTED FROM   THE REFUND AMOUNT. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks to receive any refunds.
